no transformation sequence, no radio upgrades, and we got really good at knowing who the next monster of the week would be
because you can always tell, right?
the girl that doesn't fit in starts getting upset, and tries to change who she is
or the boy that wants to lay with man as woman
or the girl that kissed the pastor's daughter at a party last year
but not the pastor's daughter, because SHE'S a good person, she was just tempted by the sinner

and you look at her
and you know the devil's gotten under her skin
so you wait until the pain's so bad she can't help but let it show it through, and then you beat the devil out of her
everyone learns what it means to be a good person, we all get our new moral
and if she makes it she knows never to believe in the devil's lies again

only they're NOT lies
or they're only lies because the good guys make them that way
because the alternative is that the devil's right, and god is wrong, and if god is everything that's right and good that CAN'T be true
it's impossible, right?
it's a paradox. oxymoron. i don't know what to call it

there's no room for the devil's truth in god's perfect world
and if heroes are god's beloved children then maybe there's no room for me in their world either

from these examples, it sounds like being a hero as you understand it has nothing to do with being a hero as i understand it

but i don't know much about god and the devil.

a hero is just someone who's decided to use their abilities to help others. to save and protect them. that desire is the only one that matters

if you've lived something different, then i'd have to say you got told nonsense. and not by anyone i'd call 'good'. at least from my perspective
